The mother of Anu, the 12-year-old girl at the centre of an ongoing paternity dispute involving Afrobeats superstar Davido, has accused the Adeleke family of intimidation and abuse of power, insisting she and her family will not be silenced.
In a strongly worded statement released late Wednesday, Anu’s mother rejected claims recently made by Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father, regarding multiple DNA tests allegedly conducted in 2020. She described the claims as false, stressing that neither she nor her daughter ever met with Dr. Adeleke for additional DNA testing beyond the initial process.
“You cannot intimidate us,” she said, alleging that the Adeleke family has used its influence to pressure and monitor her family amid the renewed public attention surrounding the controversy.
The woman further claimed that her sister, Titilayo Labinjoh, had been in contact with Dr. Adeleke since the COVID-19 pandemic, a revelation she said deeply troubled her. She alleged that the situation had caused fear and emotional distress within her family, particularly for Anu, who continues to be at the centre of intense public scrutiny.
Addressing rumours linking her to controversial blogger Kemi Olunloyo, Anu’s mother denied working with the journalist to promote the paternity claims. She explained that Olunloyo had initially supported the family years ago and helped create a social media page for Anu in 2019, but insisted she had not actively managed the page for several years.
She also dismissed speculation suggesting any relationship between her and Davido’s cousin, B-Red, stating that she had not seen him since 2013 and that Anu has never met him.
In a direct message to Dr. Adeleke, she called on Davido to personally address the matter rather than speaking through family representatives. She accused the Adeleke family of leveraging wealth and status to shape the narrative and warned that any harm to her, her daughter or her mother should be taken seriously by law enforcement.
“If anything happens to me, my daughter or my mom, the police should hold you responsible,” she said.
The fresh allegations come less than 24 hours after Dr. Adeleke publicly addressed the DNA dispute, outlining what he described as extensive efforts by the family to establish the child’s paternity, including multiple DNA tests.
