Popular Nigerian actress and media personality Nancy Isime has sparked widespread reactions on social media following her comments about childbirth and raising children during a recent podcast appearance.
Isime made the remarks on the Trib3Lagos podcast on YouTube, where she was asked if she loves children and whether she would like to have her own in the future.
Responding, the actress said she does love children, but questioned the idea of bringing them into the world in today’s reality.
She stated: “You know the crazy thing about loving children, I feel like if you really love children you wouldn’t want to bring them to the world.”
When asked to explain further, she doubled down on her position, referencing the challenges of life.
She said: “Are you not suffering, is earth not ghetto, you’re not going through a lot, don’t you wish some days that you were not born, did you ask to be here? Thank you, I rest my case.”
