Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has responded to renewed criticism surrounding his marriage to Judy Austin, insisting that years of controversy and allegations have failed to damage his reputation.
The actor made the remarks in a Facebook post on Sunday amid the ongoing dispute involving Judy Austin and her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi.
According to Edochie, he has spent the last four years facing what he described as coordinated attacks and false narratives aimed at bringing him down, but none of them have succeeded.
“In the last four years they’ve told all sorts of lies against me and they all failed,” he wrote.
The actor specifically dismissed claims that he took another man’s wife, arguing that the narrative was being used to tarnish his image.
Edochie maintained that Obasi had long moved on from his marriage before returning to make public allegations after Judy Austin gained fame.
“A man who left his wife in 2013, married another woman and moved on, years after he sees the ex-wife is now doing well and comes back to attach himself,” he stated.
Despite the renewed backlash, the filmmaker said he remains unfazed, describing himself as resilient and divinely protected.
“I’m a rock. No mortal or spirit can bring me down. I’m a chosen one. A lion. A king,” he declared.
Edochie also credited God’s grace for helping him withstand years of public scrutiny, adding that his continued success and support from fans were evidence that he remained on the right path.
The controversy escalated recently after Obasi appeared on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he accused Edochie of allegedly preventing him from having access to his children with Judy Austin.
The claims sparked widespread reactions online and reignited debate over the actor’s relationship with the actress.
In response, Judy Austin denied the allegations and defended her husband, stating that Edochie had played a significant role in caring for her children despite not being their biological father.
“Please, you people should stop insulting Yul Edochie. For everything, he has helped me take care of kids who are not his biological children. He puts a roof over their heads, pays their school fees, and feeds them,” she said.
