The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise conducted for candidates who missed the main examination due to various challenges.
The board disclosed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, urging affected candidates to check their results through JAMB’s official result-checking platforms.
According to Benjamin, candidates who participated in the mop-up examination can access their scores by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number linked to their JAMB registration. Candidates may also check their results through the JAMB portal.
He explained that with the release of the mop-up results, the board would immediately begin the ranking of candidates ahead of the admission process.
“Following the successful conclusion of the mop-up exercise and the release of the results, the Board will commence the ranking of candidates. Thereafter, the printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend,” he said.
Benjamin thanked candidates, parents and other stakeholders for their patience and cooperation throughout the examination process.
The mop-up examination was held on June 13, 2026, and served as a final opportunity for candidates who had been successfully verified during the main UTME but were unable to sit for the examination due to technical glitches, biometric verification issues or other disruptions experienced at their examination centres.
The main 2026 UTME was conducted nationwide between April 16 and April 25, with hundreds of thousands of candidates participating in the exercise.
