The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The decision was announced on Monday during JAMB’s annual policy meeting held in Abuja, where stakeholders in the education sector gathered to deliberate on admission guidelines for tertiary institutions across the country.
According to the examination body, the benchmark was adopted following a vote conducted among vice-chancellors present at the meeting.
The approved score means that candidates who score 150 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be eligible to apply for admission into universities, subject to the specific requirements of individual institutions.
