Social media personality Ojaigho Prosper, popularly known as GehGeh, has questioned the growing support for TikTok star Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, following his recent traditional marriage rites with content creator Elizabeth Aminata, known as Jarvis.
Peller announced on Sunday that he had paid Jarvis’ bride price during a family introduction ceremony, describing the occasion as a major milestone in their relationship.
Sharing footage from the event on Instagram, the TikTok sensation wrote, “Today, I proudly paid the bride price of the woman I love.”
However, GehGeh appeared unconvinced by the celebration surrounding the development, arguing that many people were focusing solely on Peller’s financial success while ignoring other important factors needed for marriage.
In a post shared on his X handle, GehGeh challenged supporters of the young content creator to consider whether they would encourage someone much younger in their own family to get married at a similar age.
“Y’all are justifying his act with ‘he has the money allow him’. But y’all failed to ask yourself if he’s ready mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Everything isn’t all about the money,” he wrote.
The social media commentator further questioned the logic behind using financial stability as the sole measure of readiness for marriage, insisting that emotional maturity and personal development should also be taken into account.
“Ask yourself, if na your younger brother or son dey this age, you go support am make he marry? Marriage no be only money matter,” he argued.
GehGeh also expressed disappointment that Peller proceeded with the marriage plans despite what he described as repeated advice against rushing into such a life-changing commitment.
“You still growing as a child why get married now eehn. I tried my possible best to help you but you failed to listen to me. Peller don go marry Jarvis. Upon all my advice this boy still pour spit for my face,” he said.
The family introduction ceremony comes weeks after Peller proposed to Jarvis at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, where she accepted his proposal.
