TikTok has revealed that it removed more than four million videos in Nigeria during the fourth quarter of 2025 as part of a sweeping enforcement of its Community Guidelines.
The social media platform disclosed this in its Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report released on Tuesday, stating that a total of 4.02 million videos originating from Nigeria were taken down for violating platform rules.
According to TikTok, the majority of the flagged content was detected and removed proactively before users were able to report it. The company said 99.9 per cent of the offending videos were identified through automated systems, while 98.4 per cent were removed within 24 hours of being posted.
In addition to video removals, TikTok also confirmed that it disrupted more than 86,000 LIVE sessions in Nigeria within the same period for breaching community standards.
Globally, the platform reported removing over 175.3 million videos in Q4 2025, with the majority detected through automated moderation tools. It also reinstated millions of videos after further review and issued enforcement actions against creators violating LIVE monetisation policies.
TikTok said it has intensified efforts to tackle harmful and misleading AI-generated content, requiring creators to clearly label realistic AI-produced media while deploying advanced detection tools and Content Credentials technology.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safer digital environment, noting that it continues to work with regulators, including Nigerian authorities and civil society groups, to strengthen online safety and content integrity.
