Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially announced a new single titled “I Know Who I Be”, confirming its release date and sparking excitement among fans across the global Afrobeats scene.
The award-winning singer revealed that the track, which features Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay, will be released on June 26, marking one of his first major solo returns in months.
Davido made the announcement via his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Monday, alongside promotional visuals for the upcoming release.
He wrote: “The journey to the throne begins,” while also confirming: “My next single ‘I Know Who I Be’ releases June 26th.”
The announcement has generated significant buzz online, especially as the singer had earlier hinted in May that he would be taking a temporary break from releasing new music.
Before this upcoming release, Davido’s last solo single was “Be There Still,” which dropped in March 2025, while his most recent feature appearance was on TxC’s track “Nakupenda.”
A multiple award-winning artiste and founder of DMW, Davido rose to fame in 2012 with his breakout hit “Dami Duro” and has since become one of Africa’s biggest music exports, with hit albums including A Good Time, A Better Time, and Timeless.
His latest announcement also comes shortly after his performance at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, further strengthening his international profile.
With anticipation already building, fans are eagerly awaiting what Davido describes as a new chapter in his musical journey with “I Know Who I Be.”
