The Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF) has confirmed that it has disbursed N152 billion to contractors for verified contracts.
In a statement shared on the Ministry X handle, they explained that payments for contracts are subjected to rigorous verification procedures in line with existing laws and regulations, aimed at safeguarding taxpayers’ funds and ensuring accountability and transparency.
While acknowledging that delays in payments have caused financial strain for contractors, the Ministry appealed for continued dialogue and engagement to resolve conflicts effectively.
The FMF further urged contractors to respect the established processes and personnel, noting that staff have faced varying levels of intimidation and harassment in the course of their duties.
