Air Peace has announced flight disruptions on its Lagos–Port Harcourt route following a bird strike incident involving one of its aircraft on Wednesday morning.
In a statement issued by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the aircraft encountered a bird strike upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport. The incident prompted immediate safety checks on the affected aircraft in line with aviation safety procedures.
As a result, Air Peace said it had to deploy another aircraft to convey passengers scheduled for subsequent flights across its network, leading to delays and adjustments to flight schedules.
The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers, describing the incident as unforeseen, and assured affected travellers that efforts were being made to minimise disruptions.
“Air Peace remains committed to maintaining the highest safety standards,” the statement read, emphasising that passenger safety remains the airline’s top priority.
Air Peace also thanked passengers for their patience and understanding as it worked to restore normal operations following the incident.
