Nigerian music star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has publicly thanked his father, Deji Adeleke, following his intervention in the ongoing paternity controversy involving a teenage girl who claimed to be his daughter.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Afrobeats superstar posted:
“Thank you my loving Father… ❤️”
in response to his father’s public clarification on the matter.
The gratitude comes after Deji Adeleke, a billionaire businessman, spoke at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, addressing the longrunning paternity dispute involving 12yearold Anuoluwapo Adeleke. He categorically denied that Davido fathered the girl, saying multiple DNA tests have conclusively shown she is not his son’s biological child.
Dr. Adeleke explained that no fewer than five separate DNA tests were carried out over the years, all of which returned negative results. He stressed that Davido has never denied responsibility for his actual children but cannot be held accountable for a child who is not biologically his.
Despite the DNA outcomes, Dr. Adeleke said he had privately supported the girl’s education and welfare in the past, including paying school fees and other expenses through the child’s aunt.
The controversy resurfaced earlier this month when the girl, Anu Adeleke, made a heartfelt public appeal on social media asking the singer to agree to another DNA test to “establish my identity,” citing years of bullying and emotional distress linked to uncertainty about her parentage.
Davido has consistently maintained that sufficient DNA evidence already exists, and he has strongly rejected renewed claims and requests for additional testing.
