Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has reacted to allegations that she snubbed Fuji music star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a recent public event, dismissing the claims as false and driven by negativity.
The controversy began after a 15-second video clip surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), shared by a user identified as @UOladiti, suggesting that the actress ignored Pasuma at the gathering.
The incident was said to have taken place during the birthday celebration of fellow Nollywood star Faithia Balogun.
Reacting in a post on Sunday, Akindele firmly denied the allegation, insisting that she acknowledged and interacted warmly with the Fuji icon at the event.
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my Egbon (elder). Pls you all should stop this evil,” she wrote.
Her response was backed by longer video clips from the event currently circulating online, which show Akindele smiling, exchanging pleasantries, and engaging in friendly conversation with Pasuma before moving on to greet other guests, including the celebrant.
Akindele further accused those promoting the narrative of deliberately pushing a harmful agenda, urging the public to disregard misleading content.
This is not the first time the actress has faced scrutiny over alleged snubbing of colleagues. Weeks earlier, she came under criticism following claims that she ignored fellow actress Toyin Abraham at the premiere of a movie project by Iyabo Ojo titled The Return of Arinzo.
