Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has confirmed that he and his wife, fellow musician Simi, have welcomed a baby boy, putting to rest widespread rumours that the couple had welcomed twins.
The award-winning artist made the revelation during a recent interview with Great Day Houston, where he spoke openly about his family life, marriage, and growing household.
Reflecting on his relationship with Simi, Adekunle Gold described their marriage as both inspiring and creatively fulfilling, noting that being married to another songwriter has made it easier for them to share and develop ideas.
“First of all, it is interesting to be married to another fantastic songwriter. You know we bounce off ideas in the home, and our daughter is giving signs that she might be one for music as well,” he said.
The singer also addressed viral rumours circulating on social media that the couple had welcomed twins. He firmly debunked the claims, clarifying that they actually welcomed a baby boy.
“…not even twins, that is the internet by the way. We have a son,” he added.
The couple had earlier announced the arrival of their second child in April but did not initially disclose the baby’s gender or name at the time.
Adekunle Gold and Simi tied the knot in a private ceremony in January 2019. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare, in 2020.
