Digital solutions provider Globacom has upgraded its Borrow Me Credit service, allowing eligible prepaid subscribers to borrow airtime and data worth up to N4,000 when they run low on their account balance.
The telecom company announced the upgrade in Lagos, saying the service was designed to provide instant support to active prepaid customers who need to make urgent calls, browse the internet or stay connected with family and friends.
Under the enhanced service, subscribers can borrow airtime or data in denominations ranging from N25 to N4,000, depending on their eligibility and usage profile on the network.
Globacom said customers with stronger usage records and higher levels of activity on the network may qualify for increased borrowing limits.
The upgraded Borrow Me Credit service also introduces Borrow Special Data and Borrow Airtime/Data for Others, allowing subscribers to borrow data bundles or airtime for friends and family members who may be unable to recharge immediately.
The company said the service would be useful in situations where customers need to make urgent business calls, complete late-night research, access online services or communicate during emergencies.
“Whether it is an urgent business call, a late-night research project, or staying in touch with loved ones during an emergency, Glo’s Borrow Me Credit ensures that a low balance never results in a zero-communication experience,” Globacom said.
Although a service charge applies, the company said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that subscribers can access airtime and data support when their balance is insufficient.
