The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have announced a two-week extension for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables, following an overwhelming response from applicants.
PSC spokesman Torty Njoku revealed on Monday that over 400,000 Nigerians have already applied for the vacancies, prompting the extension of the recruitment portal.
“The application portal, which opened on 15th December 2025, has now been extended to close on 8th February 2026,” Njoku said.
The PSC explained that the extension aims to address disparities in state participation, noting that states such as Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna recorded high numbers of applications, while Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra had significantly fewer submissions.
How to Apply:
Eligible Nigerians are encouraged to submit their applications through the official PSC recruitment portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng. Applicants should ensure they meet all the required criteria before submission.
The PSC also urged state governments, local councils, community leaders, sociocultural organizations, and religious bodies to help mobilize eligible citizens to apply before the new deadline.
Both the PSC and NPF reaffirmed their commitment to a fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment process, ensuring all qualified candidates have the opportunity to participate.
