Nigerian disc jockey and entertainer, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has opened up about her dating life, revealing why she pays £400 to access an exclusive dating platform.
Speaking on The Zeze Millz Show, the 33-year-old said she is subscribed to premium dating platforms, including Raya and The League, noting that membership on The League costs £400.
“I’m on Raya, but I’m also on something called ‘The League’ as well. But I love—thing is, I wanted to do like… oh no. ‘The League’ is definitely £400 to join, I can’t lie,” she said.
DJ Cuppy explained that she now prefers dating working-class men who maintain a low profile and are not active on social media, adding that such platforms help her connect with individuals outside the spotlight.
“I’ve dated all kinds of men—well, not every single kind, but a lot of different types. What I find is working for me right now is the 9-to-5, no social media, super-like-doesn’t-care type. I find them on apps,” she said.
The daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola emphasised the importance of being open-minded in relationships, revealing that she has gone on dates with men from diverse backgrounds.
She noted that her experiences include dates with a bus driver, a man who lives with his mother, a model, and even a footballer.
“You have to be open-minded. I’ve gone on a date with a bus driver… and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve literally gone on a date with this guy that lives with his mum, I’ve gone on a date with a model, I’ve been on a date with a footballer,” she said.
According to her, dating is less about status and more about meaningful conversations and understanding different people.
“I actually enjoy dating. I feel like we’re on a date; it’s talking and getting to know each other,” she added.
