Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has opened up on her past relationship with fellow screen star Genevieve Nnaji, revealing that the once-close friendship between them gradually faded over time.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the 54-year-old actress said she could not clearly explain what led to the distance between them, despite their strong bond in the past.
“We grew apart. We were close and we used to go to events together and then there was that gap…I don’t know what happened, I don’t know what came over her but hey, I moved on,” she said.
Henshaw explained that relationships naturally evolve with time, adding that people come into one’s life for different reasons and seasons.
“I say this with hindsight: People are in your life for different reasons and seasons,” she noted.
She further described relationships as having different roles, saying, “Some are roots, some are branches, some are leaves. That’s how it is through life. Roots would always be roots.”
This is not the first time the actress has spoken about her friendship with Genevieve Nnaji. In a previous interview in 2023, Henshaw admitted that while they had experienced some issues, they were never serious conflicts.
“Genevieve, we have had our issues but not big issues you know,” she said.
“I have loved her. You know sometimes she pulls away. She pulls away from everybody and you’re like, ‘Am I smelling?’”
