Popular Nigerian businessman and social media personality, Linus Williams, widely known as B Lord, has been granted bail by a court in Abuja in a case that has continued to attract public attention.
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, confirmed the development, stating that the court granted the businessman bail on self-recognizance.
According to Sowore, the court also imposed additional conditions, including an order for Blord to surrender his international passport.
“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” he said.
The bail ruling marks a key development in the ongoing legal proceedings involving the businessman, which has generated widespread interest across social and digital media platforms.
Under the bail conditions, Blord is expected to remain within jurisdiction and comply with all court directives pending the continuation of the trial.
The court is expected to resume hearing of the matter at a later date, while further details surrounding the charges have not been fully disclosed at this stage.
