Popular crossdresser and social media personality Bobrisky, born Idris Okuneye, has revealed that he still undergoes HIV testing every six months despite claiming he has not been sexually active in years.
The controversial internet celebrity shared the personal health routine in a post on his Instagram Story, explaining that regular testing gives him peace of mind and reflects his commitment to preventive healthcare.
According to Bobrisky, he prefers taking proactive steps to protect his health rather than relying on medication after the fact.
“I’m so weird. Every six months, I still go for an HIV test—even though I haven’t been with anyone in years,” he wrote.
“God knows I just don’t like taking chances or relying on medication. Prevention and peace of mind will always win.”
His comments have since sparked conversations on social media, with many users commending the importance of routine health checks regardless of one’s lifestyle.
Bobrisky has remained one of Nigeria’s most talked-about entertainment personalities, often making headlines for his lifestyle, public statements and social media posts.
Although he has largely kept his romantic life away from public attention in recent years, the crossdresser has continued to share aspects of his personal journey with followers.
In 2021, Bobrisky explained why he chose to identify as a woman, saying the decision came after years of struggling to make progress while living as a man.
He argued at the time that embracing a feminine identity opened new opportunities and helped him achieve personal and financial success.
“I want to be a woman because being a woman has paved a lot of ways for me. Women don’t actually know how powerful they are. They don’t know how to use their resources as a woman,” he had said.
“When I was a guy, I didn’t have anything. I was just there hustling. Nobody wanted to talk to you or associate with you because you didn’t have money.
“I wanted to be my own boss, so I decided to use what I had to get what I wanted.”
