Nollywood actress Sarah Martins was hospitalised on Monday after collapsing while carrying out a routine inventory at one of her stores, the star revealed in a post on her Instagram page.
Martins said she had woken up feeling unusually unwell but continued working, only to suddenly slump during her tasks. She wrote,
“Woke up today and couldn’t feel any part of my body…for a second I felt lifeless. I still struggled and went to my stores for inventory and a few interviews for incoming employees, and that was when I slumped.”
The actress attributed the health scare to a grueling work schedule during the festive season. “All through December, I worked every single day. Even when my staff traveled for season celebrations, I still kept working. No days off, no stretches, no nothing…just a walking corpse working tirelessly to cater for others, forgetting myself,” Martins explained.
Despite the scare, she shared a positive update on her health. Martins underwent over 32 medical tests, including screenings for cancer, fibroids, liver, kidney issues, malaria, and typhoid—all of which returned negative. “I guess God took proper care of my organs while I neglected my body,” she said.
From her hospital bed, Martins expressed gratitude and faith, while emphasizing the need for rest:
“I am typing this from a sick bed, but I will be fine because the God that protects the vulnerable kids I struggle for will never fail me. That said, I’m extremely exhausted and need proper bed rest. Thank you heavenly Father for your constant protection.”
