The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a system review following a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access to limited aspects of its information systems.
In a public notice issued on April 15, 2026, the commission disclosed that it had activated its response protocols after detecting the breach and had begun working with relevant authorities to assess the scope and potential impact.
According to the notice, the commission is collaborating with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), other government agencies and technical partners to investigate the incident and strengthen the security of its digital infrastructure.
The CAC said containment measures were immediately implemented after the breach was detected and additional safeguards have been put in place to prevent further unauthorised access.
While the review is ongoing, the commission advised stakeholders to closely monitor their records on the CAC portal and update their login credentials as a precautionary measure.
It also urged users to remain cautious of unsolicited communications that may attempt to exploit the situation through phishing or other fraudulent activities.
The commission reassured the public of its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s corporate registry and maintaining the integrity of its information systems.
CAC management added that further updates would be provided as the system review progresses.
