The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, alongside Nigerian gospel singers Nathaniel Bassey and Frank Edwards, have paid heartfelt tributes following the death of renowned American worship leader, Dr. Ron Kenoly.
Kenoly’s passing was confirmed on Tuesday by his longtime music director, Bruno Miranda, in a statement shared on the singer’s official Instagram page.
Although the cause of death was not disclosed, the statement revealed that the celebrated gospel minister died on February 3, 2026.
“This morning, Feb. 3, 2026, we said goodbye to Dr. Ron Kenoly,” the statement read.
Reacting to the news, Nathaniel Bassey described the late worship leader as a foundational inspiration whose music shaped his spiritual journey and ministry.
“Dr. Ron Kenoly crosses to the yonder side. Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me. I grew up on these songs, and today others are growing up on ours. Thank you, Sir,” Bassey wrote on Instagram.
Bishop Wale Oke, in a tribute titled “Farewell to a True Worshipper,” expressed deep condolences to Kenoly’s family and prayed for divine comfort for those left behind.
“We commiserate with his beloved family—his wife, children, and grandchildren—and pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort, strengthen, and abide with them at this critical time,” the PFN president stated.
Gospel singer Frank Edwards also paid tribute, highlighting Kenoly’s lasting impact on global worship music and Christian ministry.
“Life well lived, Heaven’s gain. Thank you for the music, thank you for the impact! Rest well, Dr. Ron Kenoly,” Edwards wrote.
