Nigerian actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has sparked fresh political controversy after making a bold statement about the political future of former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
In a post shared on his X handle, Edochie claimed that any political party Obi joins would struggle to survive, while also dismissing his chances of becoming Nigeria’s president.
“Any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival. A total waste of time,” he wrote.
He further suggested that Obi’s political challenges go beyond party structure or strategy, insisting there are deeper, non-physical issues involved.
“It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it,” Edochie added.
The actor concluded his remarks with a direct assertion about Obi’s presidential ambition.
“But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now,” he said.
The comments have since generated widespread reactions on social media, with supporters and critics of both figures engaging in heated debate over Nigeria’s political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
