The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially launched its Digital Certificate Services System, known as WAEC DigiCert, across its five member countries — Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
According to a statement from WAEC Headquarters in Accra, Ghana, the platform is a mobile and web-based application designed to allow candidates, educational institutions, and stakeholders to request, confirm, and share digital copies of their original WAEC certificates with ease. The system also enables candidates to recover lost WAEC examination numbers, ensuring seamless access to their credentials.
WAEC emphasized that the authenticity of the digital certificates is guaranteed, and the system significantly reduces administrative bottlenecks associated with the manual issuance of certificates. The Council also reassured stakeholders that traditional printing and issuance of certificates will continue, ensuring no disruption to current processes.
The mobile application is available for download on iOS App Store and Google Play Store for Android devices. Further instructions and access to the platform can be obtained via WAEC’s official website www.waec.org and its social media handles.
In addition, WAEC released the 2025 Second Series Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for private candidates, who can confirm their results at www.waecdirect.org before accessing their digital certificates.
WAEC urged all candidates and institutions to adopt the platform to avoid delays and streamline access to valid WAEC credentials across West Africa.
