The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External.
The results were officially released on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, by the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, at the Council’s headquarters.
The announcement followed an internal circular issued by the Council’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, which earlier informed staff and stakeholders of the scheduled release.
The SSCE External examination is designed mainly for private candidates who seek secondary school certification outside the regular school system or wish to improve their previously obtained results.
According to NECO, the external examination provides candidates with an alternative opportunity to earn credits required for further education, employment or other professional pursuits.
How to Check NECO 2025 SSCE External Results
Candidates can check their results online by following these steps:
- Visit the official NECO results portal at results.neco.gov.ng
- Select “SSCE External” as the examination type
- Enter your examination year (2025)
- Input your NECO examination number
- Enter the card PIN and serial number
- Click on “Check Result” to view your results
- Candidates are advised to ensure they use valid result-checking cards and confirm their details correctly before submission.
