The Jerry Eze Foundation has appointed global professional services firm KPMG to manage the screening and disbursement process of its $525,000 youth empowerment grant targeted at young Nigerians.
Founder of the foundation, Jerry Eze, announced the development in a statement shared via his verified Instagram page, noting that the decision was part of efforts to ensure transparency, accountability and global best practices in the implementation of the programme.
The grant scheme is designed to support 100 young Nigerians operating in agriculture, technology and manufacturing, with the aim of stimulating entrepreneurship, creating economic opportunities and delivering community impact across the country.
Announcement Of The Grant
The empowerment initiative was first unveiled earlier in the year as a $300,000 programme intended to provide financial support to young entrepreneurs, with each beneficiary expected to receive funding to start or expand business ventures in key productive sectors.
Subsequently, the grant pool was increased to $525,000 following additional contributions from prominent business leaders and corporate organisations, expanding the reach and impact of the programme.
According to the foundation, engaging an independent international consulting firm was always part of the plan to guarantee fairness, credibility and proper monitoring of the selection and fund disbursement process.
Although full details, including eligibility requirements, application procedures and timelines are yet to be released, the latest update confirms that the foundation is moving forward with a professionally managed grant scheme aimed at empowering young Nigerians and fostering sustainable enterprise growth.
More details on the grant are expected to be announced in the coming days.
