The Wife of the Delta State Governor and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, on Thursday marked her 56th birthday with elderly citizens and other vulnerable groups across the state.
Speaking in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, where she celebrated with the elderly, the First Lady expressed joy and thanksgiving for the gift of life, noting that her decision to always celebrate her birthday with the elderly was a promise she made in 2024. She described the elderly as custodians of wisdom and pillars of families and communities whose lives continue to inspire strength and resilience.
“It is with great joy and heartfelt gratitude to God that I celebrate my 56th birthday with you today,” she said. “Each time I see you, I behold God’s beauty in creation. Your strength and resilience inspire me, and I remain committed to supporting your welfare in every way possible.”
Deaconess Oborevwori disclosed that essential items and food were distributed to the elderly at the Ozoro centre, while similar celebrations were held simultaneously at four other locations for widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities, describing the outreach as “a full package of love and care.”
She also used the occasion to solicit prayers for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Delta State, expressing hope that the dividends of democracy would continue to reach every part of the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba, praised the First Lady for her humanitarian impact and unwavering connection to her roots, describing her as “a true and worthy daughter of Isoko Nation.” He noted that her commitment to women, children, and vulnerable groups has strengthened families, restored hope to many, and reinforced inclusive leadership in Delta State. He added that her life and work have helped bridge the gap between leadership and the grassroots through kindness, accessibility, and compassion.
Also speaking, APC chieftain, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, described Deaconess Oborevwori as a prayerful wife and compassionate leader whose humanitarian work continues to uplift vulnerable people across Delta State.
The Queen of Uzoro Kingdom, Queen Ofejiro Ogbogbo, also lauded the First Lady, describing the visit as historic and a great honour to Isoko Nation. She commended Deaconess Oborevwori for supporting the Governor, promoting unity across the state, and empowering women.
The birthday outreach was held concurrently in four locations, including support for persons with disabilities in Issele-Uku, orphans in Sapele, and widows in Bomadi and Isiokolo, Ethiope East.
The event featured prayers, goodwill messages, and the distribution of relief materials, as beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s kindness and dedication to improving lives.
