The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that there has been no increase in the registration fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), dismissing circulating reports as false and misleading.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board described claims of a fee hike as entirely unfounded and urged candidates and the general public to disregard the publication.
JAMB reaffirmed that the approved registration fees remain:
- ₦5,700 for Direct Entry
- ₦7,200 for UTME only
- ₦8,700 for UTME with Mock Examination
According to the Board, these fees have remained unchanged since 2019.
The examination body stressed that it has not approved any upward review of UTME registration fees and warned against the spread of misinformation capable of causing confusion among prospective candidates.
JAMB advised the public to rely solely on official information released through its verified platforms and authorised advertisements.
