President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the 2027 general elections will be peaceful, transparent, and credible under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Akpabio gave the assurance shortly after emerging as the winner of the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary election for Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking after his victory, the Senate President said the Tinubu administration remained committed to strengthening democracy and ensuring that Nigerians experience a free and fair electoral process.
He expressed confidence that the electoral system would continue to improve, noting that the government would provide a level playing field for all political parties and candidates during the electioneering period.
Although Akpabio was the sole aspirant in the APC primary, the party adopted the Option A4 voting system to validate his emergence as the party’s candidate for the senatorial district.
