Nigerian music star Davido has again denied claims that he is the father of a 12-year-old girl, Anuoluwapo Mitchell, following the circulation of an alleged private chat that has reignited public debate over a long-running paternity dispute.
The controversy resurfaced after screenshots and a screen recording, purportedly from Davido’s verified social media account, began trending online. In the exchange, the singer is alleged to have told the minor that he is not her father and warned her to stop contacting him. As of the time of this report, Davido has neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the leaked messages.
Anuoluwapo had earlier made a public appeal, claiming she had suffered emotional distress and bullying over the disputed paternity. She said she reached out to Davido to request a fresh DNA test to finally resolve the matter.
Responding separately on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), Davido dismissed the claims, stating that he has never met the girl’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, and that multiple DNA tests had already proven he is not the child’s father.
In the alleged chat, Davido reportedly insisted that five DNA tests conducted over the years all returned negative results. He was also said to have expressed frustration over the impact of the claims on his family, warning that the matter could be taken to court if the allegations continued.
When the minor reportedly asked for evidence of the DNA tests, Davido allegedly said the results would be made public if legal action became necessary, while reiterating that he was not her father.
In a further twist, Anuoluwapo’s mother later announced plans to seek the involvement of the United States State Department to oversee a fresh, independent DNA test, citing Davido’s U.S. citizenship as the basis for the request.
