The Super Falcons are set to take on the Indomitable Lionesses in two high-profile international friendly matches as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
According to official arrangements, both fixtures will be played in Yaoundé, with the first match scheduled for February 28 and the second on March 3. The friendlies are expected to provide both teams with a competitive platform to fine-tune tactics, assess squad depth, and build cohesion ahead of the continental tournament.
The encounters renew one of Africa’s most notable rivalries in women’s football. Nigeria and Cameroon have consistently been among the continent’s top-performing sides, with meetings between them often carrying significant competitive intensity.
The two teams last faced each other in a pre-WAFCON friendly in 2025, where Nigeria secured a 2-0 victory. That result will likely serve as added motivation for the Lionesses, who will be aiming to assert themselves on home soil this time around.
