The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a suspect in connection with the assault on the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and some leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benin, Edo State.
The suspect, identified as Udeme Sunday Stephen, was taken into custody following a thorough investigation by the agency, according to Channels Television.
Recall that Obi and several ADC leaders were attacked last Tuesday at the residence of ADC chieftain John Odigie-Oyegun.
Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, said the incident occurred shortly after Obi and party officials returned from the ADC secretariat, where they formally welcomed the 2023 LP governorship candidate for Edo, Olumide Akpata, into the party.
