The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched its Self-Service Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Portal, allowing eligible Nigerians to begin the voter registration process directly from their mobile phones or computers ahead of the 2026 registration deadline.
The online platform, which became available on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, is designed to make voter registration faster and more convenient by enabling applicants to complete the first stage of the process digitally before visiting an INEC office for biometric capture.
INEC encouraged Nigerians who are registering for the first time or updating their voter information to take advantage of the platform before registration closes on July 26, 2026.

Eligible Nigerians can begin the registration process by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit the INEC Registration Portal
Using your smartphone or computer, go to the official Continuous Voter Registration portal:
Step 2: Create an Account
Sign up using a valid email address and phone number. Existing users can simply log in to continue their registration.
Step 3: Complete the Online Registration Form
Fill in your personal details accurately, including your name, date of birth, address, and other required information.
Step 4: Upload Required Information
Follow the instructions on the portal and ensure all requested information is correctly provided before submitting your application.
Step 5: Submit Your Registration
After completing the online form, submit your application through the portal.
Step 6: Visit an INEC Office for Biometric Capture
Although registration begins online, applicants must visit the nearest INEC State or Local Government Area office to complete fingerprint and photograph capture before the registration process is finalised.
INEC Offices Open Daily
INEC said its State and Local Government offices will remain open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to assist applicants and complete biometric registration.
The Commission advised applicants who encounter difficulties while using the portal to visit any INEC office for assistance.
Registration Deadline
INEC reminded Nigerians that the Continuous Voter Registration exercise will end on Saturday, July 26, 2026, urging eligible citizens not to wait until the last minute before beginning the process.
The Commission also encouraged Nigerians to watch its official instructional video explaining how the self-service registration portal works and to use only the official CVR website for all registration activities.
