Shocking documentary footage has shown global music icon Celine Dion experiencing severe physical distress as she battles stiff-person syndrome, a rare and debilitating neurological disorder.
In the footage, the legendary singer is seen lying down, crying in visible pain, with noticeable facial and lip twitching as her body goes into uncontrollable muscle spasms. At moments, Dion appears unable to control her movements, offering a raw and emotional glimpse into the toll the illness has taken on her life.
Stiff-person syndrome is a rare autoimmune neurological condition that causes extreme muscle rigidity and painful spasms, often triggered by stress, noise or emotional distress. The disorder has significantly interfered with Dion’s ability to sing and perform, forcing her to step away from the stage.
Dion first publicly revealed her diagnosis in 2021, explaining that the condition had affected every aspect of her daily life and career. Since then, she has largely remained out of the public eye while undergoing treatment.
The documentary does not shy away from the harsh realities of the disease, capturing harrowing moments of Dion in visible agony.
