The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a strong advisory to prospective corps members deployed to Osun State, urging them to remain security conscious and strictly adhere to safety guidelines ahead of the 2026 orientation exercise.
The Osun State Coordinator of the scheme, Ita Kubiangha, gave the warning in a statement made available to journalists on Monday in Osogbo.
He advised corps members to remain vigilant throughout the three-week orientation programme and to ensure they conduct themselves responsibly while in camp.
Kubiangha also appealed to parents, guardians, and members of the public to support corps members as they begin the crucial phase of their national service.
According to him, the orientation course is designed to equip participants with essential skills, including paramilitary drills, leadership development, and other structured activities aimed at promoting unity, discipline, and self-reliance.
He stated that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course will commence on April 24, adding that all prospective corps members must comply fully with all official directives issued by the scheme.
“We advise stakeholders to support the scheme towards the actualisation of the orientation exercise within the stipulated period,” Kubiangha said.
The NYSC reiterated that adherence to safety instructions and discipline remains critical for a smooth and successful orientation camp experience.
