The Federal Government has opened applications for the 2026 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, a national skills development initiative aimed at equipping Nigerians with practical training for employment and entrepreneurship.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, in a post shared on his X handle, stating that the programme is a key pillar of the government’s human capital development strategy.
According to him, the second cohort of the programme builds on the success of the first phase, which attracted over 1.3 million applications nationwide.
“Today marks the opening of applications for the second cohort of our National TVET Programme,” he said, adding that the initiative reflects growing demand for hands-on skills training across Nigeria.
