The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, will be observed as public holidays to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement, Permanent Secretary Magdalene Ajani said the declaration was issued on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The Minister extended congratulations to Muslims nationwide for the successful completion of Ramadan, urging them to continue embracing the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice.
He also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and the continued progress of the country, while encouraging everyone to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged.
