Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan, with notable omissions including Victor Osimhen and Stanley Nwabali.
The squad list, released ahead of the March fixtures, signals a tactical shift by Chelle as he looks to assess new players and strengthen squad depth.
Nigeria will take on Iran on March 27 before facing Jordan on March 31, with both matches scheduled to be played in Antalya after a venue change due to security concerns in the Middle East.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi leads the team, alongside key players such as Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman, who are expected to play pivotal roles in the friendlies.
Also included in the squad are Maduka Okoye, Frank Onyeka, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Paul Onuachu and Akor Adams.
Three players, Emmanuel Fernandez, Philip Otele and Collins Yira Sor — have earned their first-ever call-ups, highlighting Chelle’s intent to inject fresh talent into the team.
Goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye also makes a return to the national team setup.
