A viral video has captured the moment veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, declined to engage with a young presenter who asked her to introduce herself during a live interview at the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner.
The incident occurred on Sunday at the high-profile event, which also featured the Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award, and has since sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms.
In the trending clip, the presenter—who appeared visibly nervous—approached the actress during a live segment and said, “Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?”
The question appeared to catch Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde off guard, as she paused briefly before challenging the presenter’s approach.
“You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready,” she responded.
The presenter quickly attempted to clarify, explaining that he was aware of her identity but wanted her to introduce herself for viewers following the broadcast.
“I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with,” he said.
However, the actress dismissed the explanation, expressing visible frustration.
“Why should I let fans know me? I am tired,” she replied.
She subsequently attempted to disengage from the interaction, although the presenter continued to plead with her as the exchange reportedly went on briefly.
The moment has since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users criticising the presenter for lack of preparation, while others debated the actress’s response and handling of the situation.
