Nigerian content creator and actress Nons Miraj has addressed persistent online trolling and rumours about the source of her wealth, firmly denying claims that her brand is being financed by a wealthy male sponsor.
Popularly known as Nonsmiraj, the entertainer made the clarification during an appearance on 10 Questions With Kemi Posh, hosted by media personality Kemi Posh.
Speaking candidly about online criticism, Nonsmiraj revealed that she has adopted silence as her strategy for dealing with trolls. According to her, responding to negative comments often gives critics more attention than they deserve.
“No matter how well you drag me online, I will always stay mute. When I go mute on you, you will focus on something else. That’s how I operate,” she said.
The host of The Hunt Game Show also dismissed speculation that a secret male sponsor is funding her projects. She stressed that her achievements are the result of hard work, not hidden financial backing.
“Then they think a man is sponsoring my brand. But what they fail to understand is that I work very hard,” she said. “I might get people dashing me gifts, but no man has said, ‘Let me sponsor your show, take this 50 million.’”
She maintained that she has no intention of proving herself to critics, arguing that attempts to justify her success could be misinterpreted as defensiveness.
“That’s their thinking, it’s their headache. When they finish thinking, they do something else. I don’t have strength to prove a point to you. Because the more I try to prove a point, the more you feel like this girl is trying to cover up something,” she added.
On a lighter note, Nonsmiraj also spoke about her personal life, revealing that gifting and quality time are her primary love languages.
“Gifting is my love language. I love quality time. Before, I didn’t understand how important quality time was, but now I need quality time,” she said.
