Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining an alleged gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit under the Sango Ota bridge in Ogun State on Sunday afternoon.
Broda Shaggi was said to be on location with his crew when the incident occurred, leaving him with a gunshot wound in the thigh. He was immediately rushed by his team to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos for urgent medical attention, where doctors quickly administered first aid before referring him to Duchess Hospital in Ikeja GRA for further treatment.
A police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment publicly, confirmed that the entertainer was brought in as a gunshot victim after the incident at the Sango Ota shoot location. The source added that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the shooting.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the command was alerted by the hospital after the injured comedian was brought in. She explained that detectives and a patrol team were immediately dispatched to the medical facility, where they identified the victim as the social media influencer and skit maker popularly known as Broda Shaggi, noting that the incident itself occurred outside Lagos jurisdiction.
However, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the incident had not yet been officially reported to the command, despite claims that it occurred within Ogun State. As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been released by Broda Shaggi or his management regarding the incident or his current condition.
