Former Big Brother Naija Season 5 (Lockdown edition) housemate, Neo Akpofure, has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to a social media user over a rape allegation made against him online, threatening legal action if a public retraction and apology are not made within the stipulated time.
In a pre-action letter dated February 18, 2026, and signed by Chief Victor O. Idiapho on behalf of E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., the reality TV star’s lawyers described the accusation as “entirely false, malicious and defamatory.” The legal team warned that failure to comply with their demands would result in immediate court action without further notice.
The petition was directed at Ms. Arikan Udoka, who allegedly posted the claim on X before later deleting it. According to the lawyers, the allegation falsely portrayed Akpofure as a sexual offender and exposed him to reputational harm, emotional distress, and professional damage.

Lawyers List Demands
Akpofure’s solicitors said the publication amounts to actionable libel under Nigerian law and outlined the following demands to be met within 48 hours;
Immediate deletion of the alleged defamatory statement wherever it appears online
A clear and unequivocal public retraction declaring the allegation false
A public apology acknowledging the statement was misleading and injurious
A written undertaking to refrain from making further defamatory claims
The legal team stressed that non-compliance would trigger immediate legal proceedings.
Controversy Amid Broader Online Debate
The allegation surfaced during heightened public discourse on sexual assault across social media, with users sharing experiences and calling for accountability under trending conversations.
As of the time of filing this report, the disputed post had been removed, while Akpofure has not issued any personal statement beyond the legal notice served through his lawyers.
