The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced an adjustment to the schedule for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), including a revised arrival time for candidates, particularly those in the first session.
In a notice shared via its official X handle on Monday, the board stated that candidates scheduled for the first session are now required to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier 6:30 a.m. reporting time.
According to JAMB, the examination for the first session will commence at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.
“Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00am as against the earlier published 6:30am, while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 am and end time 10:30 am,” the board stated.
JAMB clarified that candidates are not required to reprint their examination slips following the change, as all other details remain valid.
The board also released a full daily timetable showing four sessions running from Monday to Friday, with updated timings designed to improve coordination at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
The adjustment follows concerns raised by candidates and parents over the challenges associated with very early morning travel, including safety risks and logistical difficulties for those commuting from distant locations.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to take place from April 16 to April 25, 2026, across accredited CBT centres in Nigeria.
