Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday stormed the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, blocking access to the street and restricting movement within the area.
According to THECABLE report, eyewitnesses said the operatives arrived in about five buses and quickly took control of Koranakh Close, located off Amazon Street in Abuja, effectively sealing off the neighbourhood.
Residents and visitors were reportedly denied entry into the street as the anti-graft agency mounted a heavy security presence around the property. The development caused tension in the area, with many onlookers gathering at a distance to observe the situation.
As of the time of filing this report, the reason for the operation had not been officially disclosed by the EFCC, and there was no immediate response from Malami or his representatives.
